Eleanor Lourey

As a consultant, you are regularly joining new working environments so being flexible, a good communicator and having the ability to build strong working relationships quickly is a must.

You studied math and engineering, so why consulting?

I was looking for a career where I could leverage my analytical skills in a fast paced and diverse environment.

What made you want to join Partners in Performance?

I attended Partners in Performance’s employer presentation at my university and was impressed by the consultants I met there – they were all very intelligent but also very down to earth and friendly.

How did you stand out in the recruitment process?

Being able to articulate why I wanted to become a consultant at Partners in Performance and how this fit into my overarching career goals.

What’s been the biggest challenge?

The steep learning curve has been a challenge – but I find it very rewarding to think about everything that I have learnt over the last two years.

The travel has also been challenging at times, but has given me the opportunity to explore new cities.

Key skills for the job?

As a consultant, you are regularly joining new working environments so being flexible, a good communicator and having the ability to build strong working relationships quickly is a must.

As an analyst, strong analytical and problem solving skills will stand you in good stead.

What has surprised you about working life?

The variety! I knew that consulting would provide this but I find it incredibly motivating knowing that each day will be different, with different problems to solve.
